The Biden Administration announced on April 1 that a COVID-era policy that sent at least fifty percent of undocumented immigrants back to their home country would cease by May 23rd. This policy, known as Title 42, was put into place by the Trump Administration at the height of the pandemic. With numbers tumbling, the White House said the policy should come to an end.

On Monday, a federal judge in a Florida court voided the Biden Administration's mask mandate for those traveling on planes and trains. The mask mandate was originally a dictum handed out by the Centers for Disease Control, and it has been extended a number of times. Most recently, it was extended until May 3, but the judge's order voided the directive.

Tax season means different things for different people. Some are eager to get that W2 while others dread every tax filing season. While most Americans will get a refund each year, there are those who pay Uncle Sam every tax season. For these individuals, tax season is to be dreaded.

The construction of the USS Gerald R. Ford officially began when the Navy signed a contract with a shipyard in Newport News, Virginia, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding. The company would not only build the carrier, but design it as well. However, three years prior in 2005, Northrop had agreed to begin "advance construction" of an aircraft carrier.
World
In the last few weeks, former President Obama has been diagnosed with COVID-19, as has Hillary Clinton, Senator Susan Collins of Maine, and DC mayor Muriel Bowser. Late last week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi tested positive as well. While their exact variant has not been made public, their diagnoses bring attention to the latest variant - a mutation of the Omicron variant called BA.2.
Economy
After initially announcing he would accept a seat on the Board of Directors at Twitter, Elon Musk revealed on Monday that he has abandoned his original plan. Last week, the world's richest man bought 9.2 percent of stock in Twitter, making him the largest shareholder. In order to sit on the board, Musk was capped at buying only a certain percentage of Twitter stock.
World
The war in Ukraine is in its forty-sixth day (on Sunday), and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg predicts a "permanent troop presence" on the Eastern flank, which reaches from the Baltic to the Black Sea. When NATO leaders meet this coming June in Madrid, this decision will be considered and could result in a "reset."
