Justin Trudeau

Biography: Early Life and Family

Justin Trudeau was born on Christmas Day, 1971. He was the second child to be born to a Canadian Prime Minister while he was in office. In 1972, then-President Richard Nixon is quoted as saying, “I’d like to make a toast to the future Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.” As Justin was still an infant, Nixon could never know exactly how true his prediction would serve to be.

Trudeau’s parents divorced when he was only five years old, and Justin lived with his father primarily, so he truly got a first-hand experience in how to become a Canadian official.

Eventually, Pierre Trudeau would be re-elected to the position of Prime Minister. Justin and his siblings lived in the Prime Minister’s headquarters at least twice while they were growing up. The Trudeau family insisted that Justin live as normally as possible. He rode a bus to school rather than be dropped off in a limousine, and he attended a public school instead of a private, prestigious school. One of the Trudeau family favorite pastimes was camping.

Trudeau has two college level degrees. One is a bachelor of arts in literature; he obtained this at McGill University. He also has a degree from the University of British Columbia.

While at McGill, Trudeau participated in debate, and he actually debated Princeton student Ted Cruz. Trudeau would later teach French and math at a private school; he would re-enroll at McGill to study environmental geography and engineering, but he would eventually leave to campaign for public office.

Trudeau became known for speaking at his father’s funeral, which was seen on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation television network. He was also starred in a documentary regarding Canada’s involvement in World War I.

Personal Life

Trudeau is married to Sophie Gregoire since 2005. The pair had known each other since they were both children, but they only began dating after Trudeau and Gregoire worked together on a charity ball. It was a fundraiser for those affected by winter sports accidents, such as the avalanche that killed Trudeau’s brother Michel.

Trudeau and his wife have three children together: Xavier was born in 2007; Ella Grace was born in 2009; Hadrien was born in 2014.

Trudeau’s parents were Catholic (his mother converted from Anglicanism before marrying Justin’s father), but Trudeau says he was a “lapsed Catholic.” However, after his brother’s untimely death, Trudeau began attending church once more and says his faith is “extremely important to him.”

Age, Height, and Weight

Justin Trudeau is 6′ 2″ and weighs approximately 180 lbs. Trudeau is known for his handsome looks; even his opponents can’t detract from his appearance. His handsome face also comes in on some of the funny political goods or gifts, such as political stickers, political posters, political pins, and more. People would design custom lapel pins online with his famous quote or imitate his tone. And show their support or against him in an interesting way.
