While most Americans are concerned about the events in Ukraine and Russia's bid to take over its neighboring country, concern about an alliance between Russia and China seems to be on the proverbial back burner. It's no secret that communist China and Moscow have always had a relationship, particularly since the Soviet Union was communist until the late 1980s.

Zelenskyy offered a somber announcement as a part of his Saturday address: at least 1,300 Ukrainian troops have been killed since Russia invaded the country on February 28. This conflicts with Russian information that reported nearly 3,000 Ukrainian forces killed and 3,500 more wounded.

Early Friday morning, multiple news outlets report that Russian troops have taken the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhia plant in Enerhodar, which supplies one quarter of Ukraine's electricity. Initially, a fire on the grounds of the plant was reported, but, Ukrainian officials say the fire is now under control.
